Four students at the Nepal College of Information Technology (NCIT) in Kathmandu have claimed that they have constructed a thermometer that can read the temperature at any place on Earth from one place.

Prashant Dhungana, Gokarna Karki, Sunil Godar and Anish Thapa- all the seventh semester students at NCIT- claimed to have assembled such thermometer which they have named as 'digital temperature display'.

Dhungana said they made the device in three months and it cost them ten thousand rupees. He said the portable instrument based on digital technology immediately shows the atmospheric temperature of the place it is carried to. It also shows the body temperature upon contact, they said.

Likewise, a device has been fitted into this thermometer for showing the temperature readings simultaneously in Celcius, Farenheit and Kelvin.

The students who invented the thermometer have also urged the concerned government bodies to carry out a proper test of this device.

According to Dhungana, the device displays the temperature of any place on the Earth if data about its exact location is fed to it.
