The Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) is monitoring Plus Two colleges in Kathmandu for irregularities in admission, advertisement and other issues from tomorrow.

The third meeting of the 13-member committee formed to monitor the implementation of the recently issued Code of Conduct took a decision to this effect today.

The committee with Narayan Koirala, HSEB joint secretary, as coordinator yesterday called principals of five reputed schools to inquire about the admission process.

It asked principals of Jawalakhel-based St Mary’s and St Xavier’s Schools, Maitighar-based St Xavier’s School, Sanothimi-based SOS and Budhanilkantha-based Budhanilkantha School to fill a questionnaire on the admission process of their schools.

Suprabhat Bhandari, president, Guardians Association Nepal, and members of the committee today said the school principals were asked seven questions regarding the admission process, capacity of school, admission deadline, and entrance result, among other things.

He said the answers are yet to be analysed.

Bhandari said three separate teams will soon be sent to inspect plus two colleges in districts outside the valley such as Pokhara, Butwal, Chitwan, and Morang.

The committee has asked its regional offices, including the Kathmandu office, to submit the monitoring report within three days.

In a historic decision yesterday, HSEB directed plus two colleges not to destroy the answer sheets of Grade XI entrance examinations for at least six months so that they could be re-examined for irregularities in the admission process.
