National Investigation Department (NIDPT), Nepal is one of the government’s main intelligence agency collecting information related to the country’s public security, economic crimes, corruption in government and domestic and foreign terrorist activities.

VACANCY NOTICE
Government of Nepal, Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, National Investigation Department (NIDPT - Rastriya Anusandhan Bibhag), Bhadrakali, Kathmandu announces vacancy for the various positions. These vacant positions will be fulfilled through open and inclusive competitive examinations, based on the consent received from the Public Service Commission (PSC).

1. Research Officer (Anusandhan Adhikrit - Gazetted Third Class equivalent)
- Service: Nepal Special Service
- No. of vacancies: 40

Educational Qualification   
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
- If obtained from a foreign institution, an equivalence certification from Tribhuvan University is mandatory.

2. Research Assistant (Anusandhan Sahayak - Gazetted Second Class equivalent)
- Service: Nepal Special Service
- No. of vacancies: 50

Educational Qualification    
- Must have a Proficiency Certificate Level (Intermediate) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- If obtained from a foreign institution, an equivalence certification from a government agency is mandatory.
- For SLC certificates issued before 2078/09/07, candidates must have at least D+ in each subject (theory and practical) and a minimum CGPA of 1.6 in Classes 11 and 12.

APPLICATION FEE:
- For Research Officer: NRs. 1,200 for one group. An additional fee of NRs. 400 for each additional group. Candidates applying only for inclusive groups should pay a minimum of NRs. 1,200.
- For Research Assistant : NRs. 500 for one group. An additional fee of NRs. 150 for each additional group. Candidates applying only for inclusive groups should pay a minimum of NRs. 500.

AGE REQUIREMENTS:
- For Research Officer: As of 1st Baisakh of the year of selection, the age of Men should have completed 21 years and should not exceed 25 years (born between 2057/01/01 and 2061/01/01), and women should have completed 21 years and should not exceed 30 years (born between 2052/01/01 and 2061/01/01). In the case of employees of the National Investigation Department, the age should not exceed 35 years (born between 2047/01/01 and 2061/01/01).
- For Research Assistant: As of 1st Baisakh of the year of selection, the age of Men should have completed 18 years and should not exceed 25 years (born between 2057/01/01 and 2064/01/01), and women should have 18 years and  should not exceed 30 years (born between 2052/01/01 and 2064/01/01). In the case of employees of the National Investigation Department, the age should not exceed 35 years (born between 2047/01/01 and 2064/01/01).
